Why we take identity verification seriously
How do we protect your privacy when you use a new email address or phone number?
Privacy and confidentiality are essential to our daily operations and are equally important to our clients and the high class escorts we work with. That is why we handle requests involving personal booking information and changes to contact details with great care. But what happens when an existing client suddenly contacts us from an unfamiliar email address or phone number? Using a real-life example, we explain why identity verification is sometimes necessary, even when someone has been booking with Society Service for years.
At Society Service, we regularly receive requests to add a new email address or phone number to an existing client profile. This may seem like a simple administrative task, but if we cannot establish whether the request genuinely comes from the client concerned, changing those details could compromise the confidentiality of their booking information. That is why we verify someone's identity before sharing personal information or registering new contact methods.
Why knowing the details of a previous escort booking does not prove your identity
Imagine we receive an email from someone claiming to have booked with Society Service several times before. He mentions the name of an escort he previously met, remembers the hotel where the appointment took place and even refers to a specific date. He would like to make another booking and also has a question about a previous appointment. At first glance, there is nothing unusual about this. We have known many of our clients for years, and it is quite common for someone to get back in touch after a period of absence.
There is just one problem: we do not recognise the email address he is writing from. Perhaps the client simply has a new address or has created a separate email account specifically for contacting us. Both are perfectly understandable, but there is another possibility: perhaps he is not our client at all. And however convincing his story may sound, the information he provides is not enough for us to establish his identity.
It is tempting to trust someone who knows so many details about a previous booking. However, that information does not necessarily come from the client himself. A single booking confirmation that falls into the wrong hands can be enough to construct a fairly convincing story. A name, a date, a hotel and the name of an escort may be all that is needed. We have also experienced situations in which someone actually impersonated an existing client. On several occasions, clients have warned us that someone close to them, such as a partner, had gained unauthorised access to their email account or phone. The risk is therefore far from theoretical.
That is why we follow a simple rule: knowing the details of a previous booking does not constitute proof of identity. When someone contacts us through an email address or phone number that we already know and have previously verified, we can generally answer personal questions, although additional verification may sometimes be necessary. When someone contacts us through an unfamiliar channel, we only answer general questions about our services until we are sufficiently confident about the sender's identity. This may be inconvenient, but imagine someone else trying to gain access to your booking history. You would probably have little appreciation for an agency that enthusiastically confirms further details simply because the person asking happens to know the correct escort's name.
How can you verify a new email address or phone number?
Depending on your circumstances, verification can take place through an email address already known to us, a verified phone number, your logged-in client portal, a video call involving an identity check or a verifiable bank transfer. The most appropriate method depends on the information we can still verify and the sensitivity of your request.
The simplest option is to contact us from your existing, verified email address and let us know that you would like to use a different address from now on. The same can be done by calling, texting or contacting us via WhatsApp from a phone number we already have on record. We are, of course, aware that email accounts and phone numbers can also be misused, so we may carry out additional checks if we have any doubts. There does, however, have to be a practical balance between reasonable security precautions and verification procedures that become unnecessarily complicated or unworkable.
If you no longer have access to your previous contact details, you can arrange a video call with us during which we verify your identity using an identity document that you show us on camera. There is no need to send us a copy. Another option is verification through a bank transfer with a specific payment reference, where we compare the account holder's name with information we have previously verified. You can also contact us through your client portal, provided you still have access to your account. Additional verification may be required for sensitive changes. These are simply different ways of achieving the same objective: preventing someone else from gaining access to information intended exclusively for you.
