That is why our rule on this is very simple: smart glasses are not permitted during an appointment. They must be switched off and stored in a case or bag. We also ask that you put away your smartwatch and other wearables. These devices, too, can in some cases record image or sound.

Why this strict policy

The above may sound strict. Still, this level of care is not without reason. One photo, one short video, or one seemingly innocent moment can already be enough to affect someone’s life profoundly. With modern technology, search engines, and facial recognition, there is hardly any control left over what happens to visual material once it has been recorded.
